Exciting Fall with Our Friends – A Letter from Our Executive Director

Dear Friends,

What do you like most about fall? The changing trees? Crisp nights and warm days? Football? Halloween? My favorite thing is a hike in our beautiful Colorado mountains to see the colors.

At Denver Public Library and the Friends Foundation, we have plenty of fun in the fall.

We just came off a very successful Booklovers Ball. Thank you to the 500 friends who joined us to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this amazing event! We’re already starting to plan next year’s ball. If you would like to join our Development and Events Committee, please let us know

We’ve had several new team members join our staff. Please take a moment to welcome Katy Anderson, senior director of philanthropy, Rachel Malis, director of philanthropy, Pam Jewett, director of finance, and Amy Maillet, database specialist. They all look forward to meeting you!

For Halloween, we are holding our second annual Great Ghastly Giveaway where you can win a spooky gift box for yourself or your favorite child. Just engage with us on social media. Learn more here

We also have a little thing called Denver Ballot Initiative 2I happening. In fact, this is no little thing. It could be the most historic change for Denver Public Library in decades – a dedicated funding source that would allow the library to extend its hours, enhance programming for children, students, older adults, and communities of color, expand collections, and increase pay for library staff.

We have only a couple weeks until Election Day on Nov. 8. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to walk, put up a yard sign, or shared information with your friends, family, and social media networks. You can learn more and sign up to volunteer at stronglibrarystrongdenver.org

We’re also gearing up for our Holiday Lighting Party on Dec. 1 and Colorado Gives Day on Dec. 6!

You, our friends, keep us moving. Thank you for the community you have created to support Denver Public Library. Have a great fun fall season no matter what you do!

Yours Truly,

Jeff Riley
Executive Director
Denver Public Library Friends Foundation

P.S. – Remember to turn in your ballots by Nov. 8!
