Victory for Strong Library Strong Denver

Dear Library Community,

The Strong Library Strong Denver campaign declared victory today for Referred Question 2i, which will provide an additional $32+ million in dedicated funding for Denver Public Library. This was an effort that was years in the making and is a big win for the library system and our community.

Thank you, Denver voters! We also want to thank our supporters, including the volunteers and donors, for all of your hard work over the last several months. There is much to celebrate in the days to come as well as a lot of hard work ahead.

This additional funding will allow the library to more fully meet the evolving needs of the community. The library will rely on its Strategic Roadmap to prioritize the use of these funds. These priorities include expanding access to our locations, increasing technology access, higher wages for employees, additional programming, enhancing our collections, maintaining our facilities, and more.

This won’t happen overnight but the library is committed to being good stewards of these funds and the Friends Foundation is committed to continuing to support the library through fundraising and advocacy. We will share our progress with you as we move forward.

Thank you again for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Michelle Jeske
City Librarian, Denver Public Library
