Colorado Gives Day and end-of-year giving are incredibly important to the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation (DPLFF). When it comes to being able to fully support Denver Public Library, these gifts have always been a huge difference for the foundation and the library.
Colorado Gives Day was created in 2010 by the Community First Foundation, and 11 years later it has become the largest online giving event in Colorado, even surpassing Giving Tuesday in this great state. Slated for Tuesday, December 7, 2021, this year, donors have a full 24 hours to give to one or more of the over 2,900 Colorado nonprofit organizations featured on ColoradoGives.org.
While individual donors are the highlight of every Colorado Gives Day, there are other opportunities for donors to help. For example, the $1 Million Incentive Fund increases the value of every donation! Whatever percentage a nonprofit organization receives of the total amount of money raised on Colorado Gives Day, that same nonprofit receives as that percentage of the Incentive Fund. This means that every gift, large or small, helps DPLFF not only on its own merit but also helps us receive a greater portion of the Incentive Fund.
Donors can also help DPLFF and their favorite nonprofits while having fun. Playing the Colorado Gives quiz is easily accessible and totally free! Twice daily for five days near the end of November, FirstBank’s Facebook page will post a trivia question. To answer the question, post a comment with your answer and mention (or tag) the ColoradoGives.org nonprofit you’d like to support (we are @DenverPublicLibraryFriendsFoundation on Facebook). If your name is drawn from all the submitted correct answers, the nonprofit you mentioned wins the $1,000 prize.
We certainly hope you consider supporting the library, whose mission is to create a strong community where everyone thrives, by giving to DPLFF on Colorado Gives Day. Be sure to heart us to mark us one of your favorite nonprofits on ColoradoGives.org now to easily find us in December.
