Denver Public Library is Still Here For You!

Denver Public Library is Still Here For You!

Denver Public Library (DPL) is rapidly switching gears to change how it provides services to customers without the use of buildings or in-person visits. And the Friends Foundation is doing the same to ensure the Library has funding to deliver services that the Denver community needs right now. Together we are innovating solutions to do normal things in a new way!

DPL has worked diligently to roll out new virtual programming to keep you engaged and connected. A visit to their website now reveals a wealth of online resources that include virtual story times, online book clubs and learning, eBooks, reference chat, music, movies and more.

Since locations closed on March 14, 2020, customers are engaging online with the Library more and more. Below are some data highlights from the week of March 15:

  • Kanopy usage increased 55% over the average pre-closure week
  • Volume page views increased a whopping 361%
  • “Ask us” engagements increased 40%
  • Phone-a-story calls increased 94%
  • Online registrations increased 60%
  • YouTube programming views increased 34%
  • Overdrive checkouts increased 12%
