Meet Cuica: A Great Big Story - Fighting Homelessness at the Library

From our friends at Great Big Story: "Cuica Montoya knows first-hand how a drug addiction can turn your life upside down. She lost her career and her house and experienced homelessness for three years. Following a stint in jail, she knew things had to change. This was not the direction her life was meant to take. She found herself in Denver’s Central Public Library, where staff host a peer navigator program, offering a hand and a home to those affected by drugs and homelessness. Years later, Cuica is back in the library, offering her own 'Cuica Magic' as a peer support, helping guide others back to the lives they were meant to live."

Please support your Denver Public Library and donate to the Friends Foundation today and help customers like Cuica and so many more who benefit from the work we do. Your contributions help provide free, critical programs and services for all, like community resources, Peer Navigators, and much more.

All contributions to the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
